Thinking of adopting an 11 yr old female from SPCA...

What can I expect as far as temperament? She looks to be naturally coloured and is almost middle aged. Does this mean she'll eat well and be docile/easy to handle? Obviously I'll be asking these questions to the staff as well but I just wanted some further info from professionals.

Also, what else should I ask the staff? Should I ask to handle her?

This will be my first snake, btw.
