Denied CFU Second Recon

As a background: I'm a college student with 4 credit cards, 2 of which are really recent which is a big reason for the denial.

  1. Discover IT: 1 year and 4 months, $2200 limit
  2. Cabelas visa: 6 or 7 months, $2000 limit
  3. Uber visa: 1 month, $2000 limit
  4. ULTA mastercard: a few days lol, $1000 limit

My scores are in the low to mid 700s

My income is around 26000-27000 a year.

I also have around 50000 in student debt right now and I have two and half years left. They pointed this out as an issue because I'll have to pay it off at some point. I didn't realize that this would have been that much of an issue since I got my other cards without much of a problem.

I'm not sure if there's anything else I can do at this point and if it's even worth trying to call again. It didn't sound like they were gonna change their mind even after the recon. I guess they see me as a "high risk". I pointed out that I wanted to build a relationship with chase how I liked the fact that I'd get 1.5x the points with the new card. I explained the reason for each recent hard pull and the reason for each card.

  1. Discover was to build my credit
  2. Cabelas was because I shop at cabelas
  3. Uber was for a few reasons. 2% for online purchases, 3% for travel and 4% for restaurants. Also the 600 phone protection you get when paying your phone bill with the card.
  4. ULTA was because I shop at there a lot and got 2% back on purchases made at ULTA. I also got a 20% coupon but I didn't mention that.

I know applying for and getting two cards is something that seems like a high risk and "concerning" as the rep told me but still. I've read about other people who've gotten approved with lower scores and more recent cards opened. Is my student loan debt really that big of a factor?

What do you guys think I should do? Should I try calling one more time or do you think it's pointless? Also, if I should just give up for now, when do you think is a good time to try again? I asked the rep this but he was very vague unfortunately. It made me think that I won't be able to get a card with chase until after I start paying on my loans. What do you guys think?
