Complete beginner requester - how to structure/price this HIT?
First off, my apologies if I'm asking this in the wrong place or stupidly. I've never done this before. I'm also new to Reddit so...yeah, sorry. I'm here because I saw a Quora answer that suggested that if you don't know how to price an HIT, you should ask the workers themselves.
I have a client who has a database of 5100 Canadian business contacts. For marketing purposes, we need to tag each contact with the Canadian province(s) their company has offices in. For example, if contact "John Smith" works for "Toronto Star", and the "Toronto Star" office is in Ontario, then we need to tag that contact with Ontario.
The first HIT, I think, is to fill out the company website for each contact. The worker can figure this out from the contact's business email address and/or from their company name. (At least 4500 of the contacts have at least one of those two fields filled out...for the remainder the worker may need to do a google search and see what comes up on LinkedIn.)
The second HIT, I think, is to then get the company's office locations from the company website.
- Does this sound like the right way of separating out the HITs for this task?
- How much we should pay? What's a fair, competitive amount?
- I looked at some other HITs and noticed that people specify "allotted time". I'm confused about how it works...we want the whole project done within a few days, ideally...what does that mean?
Would appreciate any guidance or feedback or resources at all.
