Convince me (using Word and Excel daily) to use Linux.

After some research I'm still not sure why I should use Linux. I'm planning on getting more into software development and using Python in future.
I totally get it that it's much easier to install libraries in Linux and that Linux has much more customisation options.
However I'm coding in Excel Vba almost daily and although this will probably get some hate.. I like Word 2016. Only issue I have is some formatting issues, but after I learned how to type in equations fast I don't see the point in using text editors like Latex almost all companies use Word anyway.
So why should someone who might transition into becoming a software engineer use Linux, when everything I need is running great in Windows and most companies I'm interested in use Windows and require high skills in Excel Vba?
