Starter issues

Hi everyone,

So, as the title states, I'm having some sort of issue with my 03 Fatboy. Last fall, whenever I would hit the starter, the bike would just give a whining noise. When it first started, after a few times hitting the start button, it would engage. It got progressively worse and worse. I just kept riding hoping to ride it out until winter. One day it finally took about 10 minutes to get it fired up and I parked it for the year.

I never worked on motorcycles before (this is my first one), but I'm fairly mechanically inclined, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Unfortunately, that was before I found the incredibly helpful sidebar here, so I bought the Clymer manual instead of the Harley one. Long story short, I thought the symptoms sounded like a starter clutch and replaced it. Now, im putting the bike back together and I'm getting this https://youtu.be/UC6YOJYhuj0 . I'm not sure what to think now. Solenoid maybe? I just want to get some insight because it is a pain in the nuts dealing with that oil tank and I don't want to do it anymore than necessary.
