$650 Room in University Park MD house close to PG Plaza Green Line & UMD
Hi there,
See the craigslist post with pics here: https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/mld/roo/d/room-in-quiet-house-near-pg/6527159446.html
My roommate is relocating in mid-April and leaving an opening in great house in the charming neighborhood of University Park. The house has three bedrooms, two full baths, a large cook's kitchen with gas stove, living room complete with a working gas fireplace, large fully fenced in backyard, finished basement with washer and dryer, and easy street parking in front of the house. The house is furnished (except your bedroom), but if you have furniture you prefer to use we can move the current set out.
The house is also walking distance from the PG Plaza Green Line Metro stop, Whole Foods and Safeway, movie theater, library, rec center, and the PG mall. Commuting to DC is quick by metro. It is an easy drive or bike ride to the University of Maryland as well. The house is also backed up to a park with lots of space to run or walk a dog.
The current roommates are two professional females in their late 20's to mid 30's. One individual lives in the upstairs of the house and has her own studio setup. She is really quiet and mostly isn't seen, but she's very friendly when paths do cross. I live downstairs (we'll be sharing the living space/kitchen/bathroom) and am clean and friendly and come with a medium sized rescue dog (the dog in the pictures belongs to the departing roomie). For the most part we have all do our own thing, but hang out occasionally. I'm at work in DC from 8-6ish each day and am often away from the house for a few nights each week but the house is pretty quiet even when we are all around.
Logistics: The room for rent is decent sized. It can fit a queen sized bed, dresser, and bedside table, etc. The monthly rent is $650. Deposit is also $650. Both are due at the time of signing the lease. Utilities are split three ways and include water, gas, electric, and internet. During the transition seasons this can be as low as $50 and in the winter usually runs about $100. The landlord is local, easy to work with, responsive, and (even better) accepts venmo. The current roommate is moving out in mid April so the move in date is flexible.
