I swear I thought he was on the other side of the counter....

A pho place opened in my town awhile ago. It's great food, great price, and has been busy since it opened.

I walked in one time for my carry out order, mostly looking down at my phone, and glanced up just enough to see a dark haired person "behind the counter".

I look up as I'm saying "I'm here for an order for "my name" " and realize I'm looking at an asian guy in sweats who is clearly on the same side of the counter as I am....

"I don't work here" he was clearly annoyed, but nice enough about it.

"S-sorry!" as I slink away through the crowd to find an empty bench and avoid eye contact with anyone else.

Most embarrassing moment of my entire life.
