Job interview questions

I'm in school full time going for my AAS in welding tech and looking for a part time job. I went in for an interview and I pretty much just got a tour of the shop and introduced to everyone working(only like 5 people).

Is it weird the only questions he asked me are What hours can you work? Do you know how to use an iron worker? Do you know how to use a cold saw? How much an hour do you make currently?

He didn't even ask me anything about welding, my experience fabricating, or to take a weld test. He said he'll get back to me within the week to let me know if they can work with my school hours.

How was your job interview done? Was this a normal welding interview? I figure I would have to take a weld test Do you think they want to just hire me as a shop helper?
