Locked out of Fortnite

A couple months ago, i tried to play Fortnite on my laptop (didnt work) and in doing so, made an epic account. So the other day, i got my xbox one back, and decided to play fortnite. Naturally, i linked my epic games account with my gamertag, and was ready to play. Only for me to find out i couldnt play online because i linked the dumb fucking epic account to my gamertag. So i go online to epic to try and sort this out, and what does it say on the epic support page? It says dont link a previous epic account with your gamertag, that a new epic account should be made if you intend to do so. So epic knows there is an issue, an issue that is only acknowledged on the fucking epic website???? Why the fuck would you promt players to link previously made epic accounts, if this screws over the player???! I emailed epic in a fit of rage, and have yet to hear back from them.

TLDR; 1)made Epic account on laptop 2)linked epic account with XBL 3)locked out of fortnite on X1 because i linked the account.

I really hope i made this post understandable, if anything needs clarified i will do so. Im pretty pissed to have not heard back from them by now.
