How to get started learning how to predict weather?

Im going to be thru hiking for like 7 months next year(CDT). I want to learn to predict the weather based on things I can see, feel, hear etc... so no tools at hand. I know it's going to rain soon before it starts. But it's usually perfectly sunny through out the day and then it sometimes does not start raining but instead stays cloudy or starts raining like crazy.

I know that weather in mountains is even more unpredictable but I still want to know best I can to maybe being able to do a little more professional/sure predictions.

Any resource that could help me would be nice. Beginners to advanced/ professional. Keep in mind I have like a whole yeah of time to do some work on it.
