Love songs that aren't about love. K-dot's “Love”

I do enjoy listening to and singing along with love songs, despite being mostly ace/aro, because good music is still good music

I sometimes like the idea of being in love, and it can be fun to passionately jam along to a song, even if I don't have personal experience in the subject matter. That said, I also like to appreciate love songs in a symbolic manner instead. If I hear a song about love for another person I like to metaphorically apply that to my life as a love for something else entirely. And of course everyone interprets art differently

But there's a specific song that I absolutely adore, Kendrick Lamar's “Love.” I can't stop playing it on repeat (and I like to think I'm the sole reason it got bumped into spotify's top 40 one time)

When I heard this song I immediately separated it from any ideas of a romantic love and it felt so easy for me to connect with it. And it didn't feel farfetched for me to think that it wasn't about romantic love at all

And then I learned that it was written as a testimony of self love, and friendship (kinda)

Yall, I just love this song so much. Is anyone else a fan? Do you have any other love songs that you can really get behind?
