Using ultimates at the end of a fight when 2-3 people are down will not win the fight.

News & Discussion

I see this a lot in my ELO (3400) where people ult at the end of a fight when 2 or 3 of us are dead. Then next fight, we have ethier 1 or no ultimates since we used all of them trying to win a lost fight. Comebacks is are possible, but very unlikely.

  • Example: When our tracer and zen are dead, don’t pop gravitational surge since we can’t put in as much damage.

This is something that everyone can work on (even me) as ultimates can completely change a fight. But always keep in mind when you pop an ult if it can be followed up, will it give us an edge in the fight, and do we need to use my ultimate, or have we already won the fight.

  • Another Example: Sombra popping emp when the enemy team is on high ground, and we’re playing low ground. A lot of sombras (from what I’ve seen) EMP to where there team can’t follow up.

Popping ults at the end of a won fight is a doozy too. Sometimes our Lucio will pop sound barrier when 2 or 3 of the enemy team is down and one of our teammates are low. Always keep in mind of how many people are alive on the opponents team and your teams health.

I hope someone can learn from this, and I hope I learned from this too. Thank you for reading this.
