College question from a freshman

Hi guys, I had a couple questions about living situations. Maybe there is a better place to ask this, but I thought college was a great subsection.

My questions are

1. Are parents responsible for their children becoming good/bad roommates?

2. Explain why or why not?

3. Is it worth it to get a solo/studio apartment sophomore year? (Also, is it a good idea to bring your car)
