I started a career advice newsletter for programmers. What topics would you like to read about?
I wanted to give back to the programming community so I started a weekly newsletter posting career advice for programmers. I'm focusing more on the soft skills side of things because that was what I struggled with the most in my career. There's tons of information about the technical aspects of becoming a better programmer, but I think there is a gap in information when it comes to the non-technical skills.
Things I've written about already: What to do when things go wrong Learning the importance of automated testing How to add value both with code and without code The importance of documentation The different ways you can minimize risk
Things that I'm planning to write about: Soft skills that Senior engineers possess Dealing with burnout Deciding what kind of programmer you want to be - generalist vs specialist
I'd like to hear from you guys what questions you have or topics you'd like to read about
I won't post a link to the newsletter here due to subreddit rules but if you're interested in knowing more feel free to PM me.
