Recommendations for GameCube (from a girl who is clueless about everything gaming)

I’m not really sure if this is the best place to post this but whatever. My boyfriends birthday is coming up and I’m considering buying him a GameCube (for nostalgia reasons) and a few games. He has a switch already but I’ve heard him mention how he wishes his mom hasn’t gotten rid of his childhood GameCube, so my question is 1.) is a GameCube a good gift for someone who has a switch and 2.) What games are a must have for GameCube?
