Traveling with a baby

Hi all, I'm headed on vacation with my baby. This might be a dumb question but how do you transport your baby from home to airport? I guess we'll need to bring the car seat to strap into the uber? It's kind of a pain to have to bring the car seat but I don't see any other way. (I hope there's another way, I'd rather just bring her stroller).
