how does nicotine actually invoke this euphoric Pleasure feeling?

Just went 24 hours without a vape. Seconds after my first puff, I felt Euphoric, more so than during my normal vaping days. But How does nicotine really work to cause pleasure? Contrary to the normal theory that nicotine binds to acetylchonline receptors in the VTA which then release dopamine into the Nucleus Accumbins, this video suggests that dopamine is not the "pleasure" transmitter, but an anticipation transmitter.

So how does nicotine actually invoke this euphoric feeling? It used to be said that it was caused by the carbon monoxide in the cigarette, but a vape doesnt have Carbon monoxide.

Does anyone know more about this topic?
