I let five of my friends try out the new Brawl Stars, here are the results [SOCIAL EXPERIMENT]

Yesterday, March 11, I downloaded the game for five of my friends, and checked in a little after a day. I did this to see if the BS's team to attract newer players worked.

Friend #1 likes the concept and loves the art, but felt the super button was really bad because you can't aim it yourself and that it's way too small. (I later told him that you could drag it) He also doesn't like how it's horizontal game. (I guess it's because he gets a ton of SC notifications)

Friend #2 is a hardcore mobile gamer. He also liked the concept, he got into it for a couple hours, even put a couple dollars onto it, but felt the game play was too slow (i.e. progression, movement). He noted that the upgrade system was similar to CR's. He was OK with horizontal. He kept getting 2-shotted in a game by Bull. His only complaint was that Bull he played with who he thought had hacks.

Friend #3 just didn't like it, and moved it to a folder with all his other games. He though horizontal was somewhat annoying and that he's not gonna be able to play the game while he's out with his family (dinner, waiting line, etc).

Friend #4 plays Clash of Clans and Clash Royale. He thought the controls were really confusing and he disliked how the currency system was like Clash Royale's. He said "it lacks creativity. It's literally just a copy off of Clash Royale". I'm pretty sure he deleted it.

Friend #5 deleted it within 5 minutes. Her reasoning was "too confusing. It's sorta hard to see anything" (She has Iphone 5s). She said loved the artwork, but the game didn't match her style.

Conclusion:

-3/5 would recommend to a friend

-1/5 would spend money.

-On a scale from 1 to 5, 5 being the highest and vice versa it was rated on average, 3.5

-4/5 were neutral to negative about horizontal. 5/5 were neutral to negative about controls.

-4/5 liked the concept, artwork, theme etc. 1 thought it looked "babyish"

-2/5 would continue to play

Of course, the sample is small, but these are just the results of 5 random teenage friends. All in all, they said Brawl Stars could use a lot of work, but understood it was still in beta.
