From handheld to tripod and back again.
I shoot a lot of nighttime cityscapes and long exposures, because of this, of course I need to use a good tripod. So the problem Ive been having with most setups is that to install the camera on the tripod, I have to remove it from my blackrapid harness, and attach it to my tripod. What makes this especially annoying, is that the harness uses a loop that screws into the bottom, where the tripod mount goes, so I was constantly having to unscrew stuff.
Here's my solution to that so you only have to unclip the harness and clamp the mount to the tripod, instead of removing and installing hardware every time: I got this tripod screw that has a loop that connects with the loop on the harness, and lays flat so it doesnt interfere with the mounting of the tripod baseplate. Now all I have to do is unclip from the harness and screw down the plate to the tripod, nice and easy. Wanted to post this to help others out, and to get some input if you think this is a good solution.
