Help help help

I’m replacing a 4 wire outlet in my bedroom , the the colors of the wires have all fallen off . Is there a way to tell a difference between white wires and black wires ? Also after changing the outlet the new one works fine but now the lights in my bathroom don’t work but there is still power going to the outlets
