Bracing for this backlash but...what makes WM3 Savage and Steamboat so legendary?

I just watched this match 3 straight times. I’ve always appreciated Savages work and, though I didn’t grow up watching in his prime, Steamboats legend speaks for itself. I kind of trailed off watching wrestling regularly in 2003 but am still a big fan. I don’t see what makes this match so incredible? I feel that I’ve personally been entertained more by other matches. It could be that I grew up out of that time period maybe. But the the legends of the business always bring this match up as the greatest match of all time, and obviously they know their business. Someone help me out. Am I just blind to the great performance?
