Sec+ 501 Material. Am I doing this right?
So in the last couple of months, Iv managed to knock out my A+ and Net+ certificates and last week started work on my Sec+ 501 certification. Im only about a week into studying, but compared to A+ and Net+ the study material Iv worked through so far seems much less intense than the last 2 tests.
A+ and Net+ for me involved a LOT of memorization of technical specifics, compatibility, and system specifics. This last week I finished the Mike Meyers SYO-501 certification passport book by Dawn Dunkerley and instead of being technically specific, almost all of the material seems more theory and process based compared to the last 2 tests. Outside of the cryptography and PKI portions, there doesnt seem to be much new in terms of subject material. It just goes a little more in depth to what was already drilled into me on the Net+ exam.
Dont get me wrong, its MUCH easier to digest and remember, and my previous career (military) made me pretty familiar with a lot of the techniques and procedures, but it seems like a very drastic change in the subject matter that Iv become used to in the last few certs. Im starting on the Messer videos tomorrow, but I just wanted to get the hive minds opinion to see if somehow Im missing something in the material Im studying. Is Sec+ considerably less technical than Net+ or A+?
