Hit detection on higher and lower ping?
What kind of a experiences do people have with this matter? I regularly play on a good connection, with 20-47ms ping, yet keep seeing shots, hooks, etc. going through other players when I check the captured footage of these shots.
A friend brought up lag compensation and tickrate as a possible cause to this (since it's a bit bizarre that a hook that directly hits an enemy tank just... flies through them), so I decided to play with a 80-120ms ping, by using my WiFi connection instead. Oddly, the shots are registered way more often and as RH, the hooks don't just fly through enemy tanks.
Is this lag compensation for having a slower connection than the enemy player, or am I just genuinely crap with a connection that's just a tad bit (IMO insignificantly) better?
