Looking for a town and supplies :)

Ages ago I was on CivCraft 2.0 and I remember how I became a citizen in a small village that was already big enough to have its own IRO full of treasure. We've had a bunch of factories and were lucky enough to live right next to an ore vein which slowly gave us wealth and we could basically get our minecarts and buy all our supplies from the diamonds we've found. It has been ages...

Now I want to return, find a city to live in, preferably with something similar to the IRO storage room we had, build a small house, and ... when I spawned, somewhere around nowhere in vacated continents with abandoned cities, while mining I seem to have found a vein again... :)

I used to be part of the Commonwealth in 2.0, mostly to use their factories and shops, but now, even more important is how can I quickly and cheaply trade a silk touch pickaxe for now? Happy to travel for it. I can only pay in stacks of unsmelted iron ore at the moment ;) Who wants to help me get a foot into the benefits of societies who trade and have all the good factories?
