In the alpine skiing super-combined, Germany’s Anna Schaffelhuber in the women’s sitting and France’s Marie Bochet in the women’s standing will start as favourites to defend the gold medals in their categories. Slovakia’s Henrieta Farkasova will be the woman to beat in the vision impaired category. In the men’s events, Neutral Paralympic Athletes Valerii Redkozubov in vision impaired and Alexey Bugaev in standing will be also looking for their second successive super-combined titles. After his highly-successful World Cup season, Norway’s Jesper Pedersen is the leading candidate in the sitting category.

The biathlon middle distance races will be held on day four. Neutral Paralympic Athletes dominated the World Cups and will again be among the gold medal contenders at PyeongChang. Some of the other big names include four-time Paralympic champion Mikhalina Lysova in the women’s vision impaired, multiple Paralympic gold medallist Roman Petushkov in the men’s sitting and Sochi champion Azat Karachurin in the men’s standing.
