Review question
Alright, to start out, I'm mostly asking this because I feel like I'm being a little too hyperaware of my own failings when writing my story.
So in the past 30/40 reviews I've recieved, about four or five responses have had some variation of, 'there's a lot of nuance/detail/motive I think I might have missed, so I'm off to a re-read.'
Now, my story has gone over 170,000 words (in 14 chapters) so I'm trying to take that into account, but are reviews like that indicative of me either being too wordy or unclear?
Is there a sort of common shorthand reviewers might consistently bring up that would indicate problems such as that? I don't have a consistent beta, so reviews do help me to figure out how to pinpoint failings in my own writing, which is why I ask.
Any help with this is appreciated.
