Ozark Highlands Trail Shakedown Request

Shakedown

Location/temp range/specific trip description: Ozark Highlands Trail, NW Arkansas. 36F to 70F. Western half of the OHT, starting at Lake Fort Smith SP, approximately 100 miles (wanted to do the full but life got in the way). 7 nights, wife hiking with me last two days. Will carry 5+ days of food from the start. Driving up Thursday night!

Goal Baseweight (BPW): Negotiable - I want to be sub 10 eventually, but I don't think it's happening until I get a new pack. This is more a checklist/can I swap anything out or do I have redundancies type shakedown, I guess!

Budget: $100+

Non-negotiable Items: Saddle 2 is my lightest shelter, and I'll need a 2 person for part of the trip - also not interested in leaving the net behind. PLB is wife requirement.

Solo or with another person?: Mostly solo (meeting my wife for the last 2 days/1 night)

Additional Information: This will be my last significant hike in the region due to an upcoming move to Salt Lake City, so any gear purchases that won't be usable/valuable for the region's climate probably won't happen.

Also, anything that I can't get locally probably isn't an option unless I can 2day Amazon it!

Going to have some significant rain for sure on this trip...thinking about adding my pack cover. Also, my biggest doubt is whether or not to go with pants or shorts...ticks are not out in force yet, and I've never had too much of an issue with overgrowth on the trail this time of year, but I am hiking some sections I haven't done before.
