What's your opinion about DOT/Dotty?

Hi,

I think the title says it all, I was wondering lately what the Haskell community thinks about DOT and Dotty, it would be nice to see a discussion about it on this subreddit.

Edit: it would also be interesting to know, how do you think it compares to current Scala

Edit2: In my limited understanding: Dotty is an experimental language that will sooner or later become Scala3. The main goals for it are

  • to have sound foundations (DOT, Calculus of Dependent Object Types),

  • to simplify current Scala, remove what didn't work out in practice or things that didn't play nicely together,

  • and of course introduce new features.
