WANTED: Option Advice/Opinion

So I'm planning to start going long on options/making straddles/spreads. ATM i just write covered calls. I understand pretty much the basics of options strategies or in other words i understand my breakeven, max gain, max loss, and what premium is made up of.

I was wondering, when some of you started to do options where did you start? Im thinking of doing deep ITM options to start but was wondering if anyone here had some advice or opinion on it. Maybe even explain your beginning strategy and what you looked for.
