[Brick Wall] Help me

I am looking for a birth certificate, or death certificate for Charles Russel. (or Russell)

What I know:

• born 1805 in New York State, probably near Albany, NY
• father and mother were born in Massachusetts
• 1825-1829 married Mary Beach, parents born Connecticut
• 1830-1860--Lived in De Ruyter, New York
• 1860 moved to Mukwonago, Waukesha, Wisconsin
• 1870-census records show Charles and Mary at the home of a Calvin and Almira Soul; my best guess is that he and his wife probably visiting friends in New York who possibly went to their church. (The Quaker church was equidistant from the Soul's home and their own, former home in De Ruyter)
• Strong possibility he and his wife were Quakers.
• 1880 or earlier, moved to Golden Colorado with his wife, to live with son Thomas and family.
• 1883, died in Golden Colorado.
• Wife Mary Beach Russel died in 1896, and I have her obituary stating year of death of Charles.
• kids were: George, Henry, Elias, John, Harriet, Thomas, Eliza
• All my info is gleaned only from Charles' census records connecting him to his children and wife, and the death certificate for Elias Russel, listed Charles Russel and Mary Beach, both of New York, as parents.

Elias Russel's (sic) death certificate lists Charles Russell and Mary Beach. But cannot get past either of them.
