On the topic of Feeling Guilt/vulnerability?
Alright so I've had a recent event that really showcased how I react to my actions...not sure if its an ASPD thing or not, just something I took note of. If you don't want to read the story, just go to the question below which is on the last paragraph, I'd love to hear sincere opinions about this.
So personally...I've never truly felt sorry for most actions I've done, and if I do, it's because it affected me negatively reputation wise. If I hurt someone using words or by some action...I just don't see how it's my problem unless I need them. This has been a common occurrence since I was a child. I used to be bullied/abused, so I never really cared if I hurt someone. The moment it started affecting me (parents punishing you, you getting in trouble) that's when you feel vulnerable. Vulnerability that frankly...sucks. I value power, but the moment someone showcases me or takes it away, I WILL react badly.
Anyways so for instance...today someone was writing on how he got recently engaged and that she was going to be the love of his life. I just thought the post was dumb and that no one was gonna care what I said anyways, so I went on a deep explanation on how he'd eventually divorce, break up, or just die. I didn't really mind much to it, I didn't care. Now this guy saw my posts and said I was insensitive and decided to post about my comments. I started panicking seeing how there was a post about me and I couldn't help but to become irritated. Sort of like a "I caught you" moment.
I decided to talk to him and played off a persona that I'd call "The broken man." I went off of a sad rant of how my "daughter" died and ever since then I have been pessimistic. The sucker fell for it and decided that he was an asshole, and deleted everything about me, so I'm clean. The relief one gets when one is so sympathetic and you convince them to do something You want...is relieving almost. The downside is that you have to put emotions and effort into making them believe it. Acting goes a long way of projecting something you want...unfortunately projecting weaknesses is something I dislike. As of matter of fact, I HATE weaknesses. Whenever I'm in a position of "Power" I could care less who gets hurt. (except my family)
Either way, Now that it doesn't affect me anymore, I could go back to doing what I do. Though I still want revenge/payback...no one just exposes me and gets away with it...But it's a stranger so eh, he'll probably die somehow or kill himself.
Now this happens whether I'm on the internet or in real life, I'd give more examples, but I've made my point. Now I'm here to ask you...do you personally feel guilt when hurting strangers or those you don't care about? When someone has you in a vulnerable position or makes you feel vulnerable/uncomfortable, do you try your best to give a fake apology or act out something to reduce damage dealt towards you? Do you find it annoying and irritating when someone cries or starts feeling sad?
