Turns out the feral cat I was feeding was pregnant. I made her a birthing room and she had her kits yesterday!

I mean, I know I’m not supposed to be excited about bringing five more kitties into the world, but new life is just so gd beautiful.

I’ve been feeding her for about 6 weeks. In the last few I realized that she was pregnant. She lives outdoors, as my SO is highly allergic. I gave her a crash pad in the garage, out of the elements. The magical part of the story is that she kitty-communicated her need for a safe place to have her kittens. After she got really big, she basically lived on my doormat 24/7. I knew what she was asking me for. So this past Friday, I made her a very cozy little room in a storage box. I put down a plant heating pad and foam insulation, covered in memory foam and a blanket. I lined the walls with an old fur stole that was beyond repair. I covered it and left a small corner for her to go in and out. Two days later, she used it! Now there are five little kitties inside, and I’m so proud of her.
