What's going to happen to Brees?
So, many teams will most likely reach out to Brees and give him some sort of an offer. We already knkw the Vikings talked to his agent and im sure the Broncos and Jets are gonna make some type of effort as well.
What I want to know right now is why the hell haven't we resigned him? We are currently a Superbowl Contending team with the build up we have and Brees leading the way. If we want to make a Superbowl run and have the best chance to do so, we need to sign him.
Now, in a scenario that we don't sign Brees again. There are only a few things the Saints would be projected to do about a now surprising QB problem. FA Market, the Draft or (very unlikely) a trade later on.
So far the Saints have not been reported to have talked to any other FA QB's agents right now. This is good because it gives us a sign that we will not be shopling for a QB this year.
If we were to draft a QB. Baker Mayfield, who the Saints have been speaking to a ton in the past few months, will be gone by the 13th pick, I predict. If the Saints were to make a move on Baker Mayfield, they would have to make a big trade. Lamar Jackson is a good QB, he has that Cam Newton type of play style, as in him being able to make plays in the air and on the ground but I dont believe the Saints have any interests in him at all nor do they have any interest in any other QB.
Lets just hope and pray at this point that the Saints pay this man the money he deserves for being arguably one of the best QBs in history. The reason I believe that we havent signed him yet is because the Saints probably gave him a bad offer. Keep in mind, Matt Stafford in Detroit got a massive contract this year, along with Jimmy G in San Fran. After Stafford's contract Brees seemed a little annoyed because of how much money Stafford's agent got him, remember... Brees has that same agent. So if that was the problem, that Brees got a crappy offer from the Saints, lets hope they come back and give him a deal that he is not gonna want to refuse.
