[TOMT] [Reddit Thread] Thread in which people were talking about a country that had it's first pacific transfer of power in 400 years

Around a year ago, I think, I was browsing reddit when I saw this people talking about how this country had had its first pacific transfer of power in like 400 or 500 years, something about abolishing the presidency and establishing a parliament.

I want to remember which country they were talking about, because that has proven surprisingly difficult, and find that thread if possible, because I remember it was very insightful.

I think the country was one of the Stans, Uzbekistan, Tukemistan, one of those, but after going through their wikipedia articles they are still dictatorships.

I also think that a woman did it, she came to power with the help of the military and then reformed the nation and left power pacifically in this historic elections.

Edit: It was Kyrgyzstan and the woman in question was Roza Otunbayeva. Still would like to find that thread though
