Kusarigama damage dice?

Hey guys!

I see that a kusarigama is 1d6/1d3, but I don’t see which end of the weapon is which. Anyone know for sure?

Also RAW is it only the ball end that has reach? My days of old school Samurai Warriors lead me to want the pointy end to have reach too
