[META] Bug / issue tracker for the redesign?
Reddit is a great platform for hot topics and "what's new online" but it's no substitute for a proper issue tracker. The top posts are a good snapshot of what people are talking about right now but that all gets swept away in a day or two, because that's how reddit works. It's too time-sensitive for ongoing feedback on a lengthy project. Before I give any feedback I have to search to see if I'm mentioning something new or beating a dead horse.
Not just for you as developers but for us as testers. I would rather have a page of top issues and easily see "oh, 500 other testers have already voted up this whitespace concern, and here's a dev response." And if I still want to add a comment I can do so and throw my vote on the pile. Instead I have to search, and then what? Upvote all those old posts? Add a comment saying "yes, I agree" to the most recent one? It all feels kind of chaotic, and especially as more users are added to testing it's going to get worse. I'd rather see a consolidated thread for each bug/issue/idea.
I just got my alpha invite three days ago and I'm lost in terms of what changes/features the community wants most, which issues are already identified, which are being worked on, etc. The sticky Release Notes thread is helpful but I agree with these comments-- I'd really prefer a bug/issue tracker.
