Voice chat not working (PC)

I've looked all around online for a solution to my problem, but I can't find one. I play FortNite on PC, and my mic just doesn't work with the game. The game picks it up and realizes it's there, but when I talk, it doesn't pick up any sound. I've tried the trick with switching the controller layout to quick builder, but no luck. I have no idea why this problem is happening, unless I'm being really dumb and the solution is right in front of me. Any help is appreciated.
