People were skirting the cigarette taxes by buying roll your own tobacco that was marketed as pipe tobacco. So what do you do? Tax the crap out of pipe tobacco. It’s not economically feasible to pay it and I imagine it creates more paperwork for Eddie as he advertises on his site no tobacco sales to Florida residents.

I feel your pain - I live in Washington.

Nice pipe! I also ordered an unfinished Savinelli from Eddie (a paneled billiard) and I've got nothing but nice things to say about the pipe and his shop. I also really enjoyed the videos he made and was glad to support the person who made them.
I suppose that's the pipe equivalent of kicking back a few bucks every month to your favorite podcasts. It's funny, it wouldn't have crossed my mind years ago but now it seems like a no-brainer - with so much crappy content out there it makes perfect sense to reward those who are putting out good stuff.

Picked up an unfinished Savinelli 673 (my favorite shape) in 9mm. I wanted a briar pipe I didn’t have to treat like fine furniture and was curious about the 9mm part. Will be cool to see it change character over time.
I bought the pipe from Eddie Gray www.thepipenook.com. I don’t know the guy, never communicated with him, but I enjoy his YouTube videos and admire his passion for things pipe related. He runs a small scale operation and I would love to help him in his business venture but alas, I’m a Floridian as he is and unable to purchase tobacco from him. Best I can do is encourage you to take a gander at his pipes and tobaccos before your next purchase and see if anything strikes your fancy. He seems like a super nice guy and I doubt you would regret it.
Edit butchered the website address
why cant u purchase tobacco may i ask?

I've been hoping my shop would get this shape in for like 3 years and they haven't
