Flash Bulb Memory

Flash Bulb Memory

What came before
that day
that hour
those people
wasn’t needed.

What came after
those people
that hour
that day
was forgot.

In that flash...
I hold time
you and me
warm breath
black water
moon slices
sparkler stars
we remain
unmoving
captured.

In that flash…
hopeful young
passion rich
silly learning
to be wiser.

In that flash…
singular slice
of time
I can never
have again.
