While I love it, I feel like it could be longer. The second you start to feel something, it's over. I thing adding even a few lines could help

I love the word "sear" in the title. I really got the sense of fire in this poem. Nice descriptions.

A funeral pyre is an ancient form of cremation. 
So, the idea is that the relationship is "dead," yet there is a lot of passion left every time they think of their lover this passion reemerges. 

EDIT: I can definitely add some more, a pyre burns very hot and quick so as to only leave a few pjeces of the corpse left, so very hot but there is no thrashing, think viking funeral.  Serene, beautiful, but at the same time lots of love (as represented by the fire)

Lots of room for expansion. While I do enjoy how it leaves a lot to the imagination, as I think we have all felt this way at one point or another. Some clarity would be nice. How does this fire burn? does it burn hot, or cool? does it leave you cold and still, or make you thrash out? Great overall though. :)
