Very nice work, you succeeded at creating a truly human character without overexposing their qualities. I have a few suggestions regarding flow and word choice that you can judge for yourself. First of all, I would say "But I hate to be alone". This would fit the syllable count better, as well as creating the smooth rhythmic transition that the soft rhyme between "alone" and "known", which I found effective nonetheless. If the abruptness and sudden re-pacing was intended, keep it in by all means. "Straws" needs an apostrophe in the second stanza, otherwise that stanza is great. In the last stanza, I feel as if "poetry" should be replaced with "poems", as it creates more length consistency, and keeps up the theme of soft rhymes with "poems"/"know". Thematically, the last lines really tie everything together. All of my complaints are stylistic opinions, I think this poem is almost exactly what it means to be, and it speaks for itself brilliantly. Good work.
