This had emotional resonance for me! It also has a kind of progression which is nice to read.// I would maybe play around with either a) the subject matter or b) the way you convey what you are trying to convey. BUT I FEEL THE ANGST?PAIN!!

Hmm nice imagery, but I feel like something is missing. Feels a bit generic. Some lines are also kind of cliched, like  "feed the monster within". Try to add more complex metaphors maybe. 

Very powerful message! I liked it a lot. One thing i got stuck on though was

It felt like an unnatural pause. Maybe it could be changed to "I have to step back to reset" or ".. step back to move forward"

Another thing: maybe "i have become something that only inflicts pain to feed the monster within" could be redacted to "i inflict pain to feed the monster within". This would also improve the flow I believe. The fact that this is undesirable is understood from context.

This is very relatable without being too esoteric. I lioe how it really looks like a thought process someone could have in their brain while dealing with something like this.
