The Hurt (My first poem, let me know what you think pls :D)
Today I didn’t just cry, I wept from the depths of the purity of my soul.
In a sense, I felt a cleanse as those tears gave me an epiphany,
And opened my eyes to my world, and even greater; a sense of me.
This part of me that was once lost, diminished, unappreciated, and forgotten
Rose from the dead like a phoenix from its ashes.
Not with vengeance, but with love, gratefulness, and humility.
This was a long journey, a journey that continues to unfold from the stars situated in the galaxies
To my thoughts preconceived. A journey where redemption is key.
The once paper-like brown skin under my arm, leaves a residue of the suffer and pain
That I shall remember for the rest of my life.
I have experienced what it is to be human; the pain, loneliness, sadness, the abyss in the middle of your chest
That swallows all your zeals and aspirations and keeps it locked in the never-ending void of self deterioration.
The beautiful irony is that I found myself in these scars.
For, I am a survivor of what it is to be human.
And solitude and loneliness may take many lives, but it saved mine.
