[2,597] The Remaining (Completed short story)

So I had the urge to write a short story and wrote this yesterday.

What I would like from you:

1. Was the world / setting confusing?

2. Did the ending make sense?

3. Did you like the ending? If so, why? If not, why?

4. What do you think the point of the story is?

Other things are plot, setting, and just what you think about it. Not too worried about grammar/spelling. That can all be fixed later but I want to nail down the story first.

I guess I really want opinions on the ending and if / how / why I should change it.
