Rebirth

Feedback Request

This is Genesis,

A new dawn,

Breathe some breath in it,

A new canvas to be drawn on.

Shed the skin of your old self,

In the past you'll never dwell,

Yes it hasn't been long since you fell,

But it's time to leave your hell.

What I truly mean is,

Live the life of a phoenix,

Onlookers are demeanin',

Yelling at you while your inner demons are screamin'.

Fuck what they think,

They don't know what it's like to sink,

They know nothing about people like you and me.

People who plant saplings but feel forced to cut down the tree,

People who live in an ongoing crisis but feel forced to act infected with glee,

People who are forced to choose what to do when we don't even know what to be,

People like you and me.

They say we need guidance,

They say we need help,

But they'll never help me from incorrectly guiding myself.

So now I'm in this all on my own,

A crown of thorns,

A throne of stone,

Because I'm king of my world whether I like it or not,

Whether the weather is cold or hot,

Pushing forward is the only option I got.

So break me down,

Do it if you dare,

You can take my crown,

You can break my chair,

However you can't take my frown,

You can't break my stare,

In a fiery lake you'll drown as this phoenix rebirths to the air.
