I stepped forward, flicking the ruined door to the side, shattering it against the wall with a clang. The civilians inside start to turn their attention towards me, breaths drawing in for a scream.

A step. Two. A slight twinge of the wrist, and he goes flying against the wall, slumping down. Within a few heartbeats, the rest follow, and I stand there with the last one, held up with an arm at her throat.

"Put her down!" a voice rings out behind me, filled with power and defiance. A smile runs across my face. It took her long enough.

I am a devious, unstoppable villain. Have we thought before, or am I new to the area?
