The imagery used to set the tone is astounding. I really love it.

Hi,

I don't get the necessity of the first line "a shadow in the shadows of her misery". I think to start off with the actual painting would have been stronger.
I love the description of the colors to correspond to feelings. I think that the line "the canvas is her home" is very meaningful and coveys how depressing and torrid the situation is. Well done there. :)

Please format the poem so that it can be better read.

There are several things I'd consider revising. The title gives away the main conceit and doesn't really add to the poem. "Shadow in shadows" is a bit redundant, "porpoise" seems like too silly a word for a serious subject matter, rainy days are always painted as "melancholic," "woe" is archaic and doesn't fit the modern language, and finally the pain//shadows comparison is a bit overdone. While there is certainly a lot to work on, I think there's definitely potential here. I did like the comparison of painting to a storm because in that case, you used the storm as a double metaphor both for the artist's pain and the movement of the brush. Stick and expand with imagery like that, that shows instead of tells and avoids cliche. Keep writing!
