Question about carb counting
My question is this: is it more important to stay under your daily goal or your weekly goal?
I usually have a deficit at the end of the week according to my tracking app. Its usually around 100g.
I try to stay under 20g a day, most days I'm around 10-15g. So, with this deficit, could I use it to treat myself to a candy bar or something not low carb occasionally?

In regards to carbs, going over for ONE meal can throw you out of ketosis, so you must be under your carb number each day.
Ok. I read something (I want to say on the Bulletproof website) about a cyclical style of keto with low carb 6 days a week and a carb refeed day on the 7th when you can eat something like double the amount of carbs you did the last 6. So this is not a good idea then?
EDIT: here's the page. Probably pasted it wrong so it's not a link. https://blog.bulletproof.com/how-to-find-your-ideal-carb-intake/
Well, if you do the "carb up day", you will effectively be out of ketosis for two days. One day for the carb up day, and one day to re-enter ketosis. Gaining and losing the same water weight every week.
Furthermore, the blog you linked to is NOT about ketosis, but is about low carb. This sub is about ketosis. So, maybe a low carb sub might be better suited for you. Best of luck!
So ketosis and ketogenic are not equivalent? Isn't a ketogenic diet one that puts your body into ketosis? Isn't a ketogenic diet that puts you into ketosis essentially a low carb diet?
Sorry if these seem stupid. I guess I'm not seeing what the difference is.
Ketosis and ketogenic are essentially the same. LOW CARB is not ketogenic. See, the blog was referring to low carb as 30 to 100 grams of carbs. That is not ketogenic, but instead is low carb. In other words, you need to eat 20 grams of carbs a day to be in ketosis (therefore eating a ketogenic diet). You can eat 50 grams of carbs and not be in ketosis but simply eating low carb. Think of ketogenic as super low carb.
