Using CarbManager app—mistake caused plateau. A story for Newbies

Just an FYI for newbies. Love CM (just the free version is great), but when I set it up apparently I didn’t go into the personal settings and set my macros to lose weight. The default is “maintenance”. So after my original water weight purge (days 1-10) I held steady for two weeks, never losing an ounce. Finally figured it out this Tuesday (day 22), and since I adjusted my macros, I’ve lost 2 lbs. </dimbulb>

Dont forget to keep contantly adjusting your macros! Self-Assesments are always a good thing to make sure you are still on track!

Stuff like that is frustrating. When I first got on r/keto I thought my protein macro was like 78g when it was supposed to be 170g. LOL!

Calculate your macros using the calculator on the side bar, not anything from an app, from what I've seen they're all flawed.

I don't know about CM but in Cronometer you can manually put in your macros, that's what I now do.

Question: Do you have to use up your proteins for the day? I never have.

I follow the FAQ in the sidebar: “Carbs are a limit. Protein is a target. Fat is to be consumed to satiation, to remove hunger, not to a target. Recommended fats are from meat, olive oil, butter, and coconut oil.”

So I try to hit my protein target, under my carb limit and under the fat limit. Most days I’m right at my carb limit, because it’s low (17g).
