is the game growing in general? I am enjoying the game but really just want to make sure that the game is not another "war of crown" where they have to shut down after awhile. I am reluctant to spend money in the game - since I did not see any sign that the game is growing in community, or maybe I am wrong. Share your thoughts.

dont worry, the game will not die. com2us is not just any developer, they are very big company with lots of funding. the game is still very new, less than 2 months old, its gonna take time to grow the player base. this game is like an improved version of summoners war in many ways. they have taken care of many aspects such as:
Violent rune proc - no more
dupe nat 5 - can use for transcend
useless nat 3s - unique usage in power up (not sure i like this tho)
speed meta - no speed stat
I hav alot of faith in this game!
If it will be any like SW it won't be power creep driven game, so you shouldn't expect new, powerfull guardians released on a weekly basis like in some other gacha games. I hope for some new events and gamemodes though.
Id say the game is looking very promising compared to war of crown. War of crown made so many mistakes from the start which let to it ruin. They also made many big changes, like removing wanted bosses which pissed off many peoples. The had a pretty negative view of the game pretty early on and it kept being that way.
Chain strike on the other hand is very fun so far and the gameplay is kinda unique. Community wise, peoples seems to be enjoying the game and more players are joining the fun :). Have great hopes for this game.
I always like judging a game's player-base/growth based on several factors. Reddit activity is one, but another one is in-game Arena rankings. You have to assume a large sample of the player-base ignores PvP, and even when you do that the data is ... troubling?

That's a user account retention of just 12% from the first week. That kind of makes sense. Most of the abandoned accounts being rerolls.
Check back in after sunday's reset. If the number of active accounts drops significantly again that could be bad. Otherwise, we'll probably see a steady growth of ~1000 active PvPers for the next few weeks until the first major event or advertising push.
I see it currently ranked #97 under strategy in the apple app store. Seems to be doing all right.

Actually, GameVil owns Com2US. However, it looks like the game is growing since I'm lvl 32 or 33 and I'm getting a lot of friend requests from low level accounts.
Gamevil is a publisher for devs, com2us is a Dev that self publishes. War of crown failed because its devs couldn't keep up with the game, which has never been a problem for com2us teams.
Just because gamevil has a majority share in com2us doesn't mean they get involved in individual projects.
I totally get what you're saying. Just pointing out that they are affiliated. Not guaranteeing quality of output by the devs, publishers, etc.

I would add, though, that com2us has at least one long-term successful game under it's belt. Asone (the studio that made War of Crown) was pretty new to the space if I remember.
It’s doing pretty good imo it came out about 2 weeks ago and almost has 850 subs here in reddit and 1,000 in the Facebook group. Also rated 4.6/5 based on 50 reviews in play store, hope it continues to grow. Pretty cool storyline and graphics and the gameplay is actually strategic and hard.

in two weeks the sub reddit grows from a hundred to 800+ subs...so yeah...its clearly growing
